Command sound cutting out

Command sound cutting out
I have a new problem...
The sound cuts out on all sources approximately 4 times per song and stays off for 2 seconds.
On SAT it gives a "device unavailable" and a "OK" acknowledgement button.
On iPod it gives a "media interface unavailable" and then the "activating device please wait" message.
It doesn't matter if the car is on or simply parked with the motor off.
Anything similar with anyone else?

Can happen - not common - key here I assume is unit stays on - sound cuts off - then sound comes back on.
Proper dealer service procedure under warranty - diagnose connections - if nothin funky then then download/fresh-program for COMAND - if that does not solve your problem - then dealer requests MB approval to replace the COMAND unit - once approved then dealer orders new unit - comes in about 3 working days - about 3 1/2-4hr install.

And then I have a brand new car that the dash had to be ripped out..... Not something that should have happened. I'm already have distronic failure that they have not diagnosed......
