Keyless go

My wife had a question that I couldn't answer about keyless go, and I haven't found it anywhere on the MB website.

In the event of a dangerous situation, say she's being followed in a parking lot and she opens the door with keyless entry, then locks the doors as soon as she's inside, can the door still be opened from the outside since the key fob is within a close distance to the lock? Does she have to turn the car on to "secure" the locks from the outside.

I'll try to do this on my own later to test it but I didn't have anyone else to help me this morning so I was wondering how keyless entry works in this situation.

Interesting question, but I think your (or her) highest level of confidence will not come from answers here, but from trying it.

The answer is no, once she and the FOB are inside and she locks the car a person outside of the car cannot open the doors once locked. The car knows when the FOB is inside or outside the car. Fascinating technology.

You are correct. I tried this scenario last night and it did not let me open the door once my wife was inside with the fob.

Smart car.

Impressive! I guess then by the same method if junior locks himself in the car with the keys somehow you are SOL until you find the other set of keys, or give Mbrace a call?

Or you could use the MBrace mobile App if you have it.
