gl 63 AMG wheels
what do you guys think about this? I'm looking for an alternate set of rims to put a pair of snow tires on.http://www.ebay.com/itm/21-MERCEDES-ML300-ML350-ML500-ML550-ML63-GL350-GL450-GL550-AMG-Wheels-Tires-/171229971781?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Wheel_Packages&vx p=mtr&hash=item27de1a0545

its always better to go with smaller wheels, i.e 19 or 20's and narrower. That being said Pirelli makes winter Scorpian tires for the 21's ( same tire and rim size as the OEM all seasons). check tire rack.

Definitely try for 20's. I've had 20's with studded snow tires for years and it works well. Even with the larger overall diameter of the newer model, it seems that clearance is more of an issue in the body design, at least in the fronts turning inside the fender liners. I think I posted some comparative photos here somewhere. There's several very good posts about snow tires here. My preference, having tried 'em all, is the Nokian.

I have 295/40/21 scorpion winter and they are fabulous.... Already seen 10 inches of snow ... No issues at all. On my previous GL I had 20 inch wheels off of a ML63 and Dunlop Winter Sport 3D and that worked nicely too... Smaller size gets you more options in tire choice but I think either of these two are some of the best.

Also... You have to take into consideration your front calipers.... Only a 20 inch Amg wheel would fit... Really nothing else.
I'm keeping snows on my OEM and putting these 22s on for summer!
