Will 21' AMG's from X164 fit X166?
Quick question for all the tire/wheel guru's out there.
I can get a set of Blizzak winters on 21" X164 GL 550 AMG's for a good price.
Will it fit my 2014 GL 350 with sport package (Canada)?
Should I rather do 19's or 20's for tire choice/price?

The wheel offset for the previous 164 GL 550 is about 25mm off from the current vehicle as the older car had very extended wheel flares.
Also.. The correct tire size for a 21 inch wheel on both the 166 and 164 would be a 21/295/40 I would bet my last 2cents that Blizzaks do not come in that size in extra load capacity.
In 21 inch winter tires... You are looking at scorpion winter.
A 20 inch wheel (such as a ML63 164 or 166) would give you more of a selection of winter tires and have the appropriate offset for either body style.

Tire rack is correct...that they will fit..but they will stick out an inch
You have only one tire choice for winter application in a 295/40/21 the winter scorpion..which is what I have on my GL63. It is a fabulous tire! Do not consider the ice and snow or whatever the other Pirelli is ...it is 10 year old technology.
You should consider a 20 inch AMG wheel off the current ML and put 275/45/20
Tires on.... Should give you a lot of tire choices.. I had Dunlop winter sport 3D before...and they were excellent.

Thanks for all the help - I think I will go with 20's. I loved the Blizzak's on my previous GL. Either way there are more choices in 20" and it makes sense to run a narrower tire for snow anyway.
