C220 AMG Saloon 2014 Premium Plus Bluetec
I haven't owned an MB before so it's a whole new world for me. The drive is smooth and the use of agility select for Eco, Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes gives the car a new dimension with each switch. Happy with the MPG - diesel 2.2 litre engine giving approx 40mpg combined driving (including switching to Sport+ where the road just called for raw power to be put down on the road).
I have also heard there won't be another facelift for 7 years or so, so hoping this gives me as much, if not more years of driving as my Civic did - I had that for 8.5 years and did approx 95,000 miles without any problems.
The options I didn't go for: Airmatic suspension, Air freshener (sits in the glovebox and activated through Comand) and Heads Up Display - the wait for ones with HUD was even longer though in hindsight, wish I had the patience!
Having said that, no regrets about choosing this over other cars I looked at: GLA, Audi A3 saloon (no comparison), BMW 4-series.

shotchaser: Thanks for the overview of your C-class. When iOS 8 is released, post an update about your experiences using Apple CarPlay. Thanks.

It's official, MB announced it is delaying the launch of CarPlay support until 2015:

Interesting that a year ago MB released a video showing CarPlay in action in the new C-Class. Then they announce it would be delayed until next year (which happens to be this year). Still no official word on when any new model will support CarPlay. And what about customers that bought a new C-Class thinking it would be supported? Some customers will begin looking elsewhere if MB drags their feet too long.

I saw the Apple CarPlay demo on the new Volvo (promise last time I'll mention that car). It was pretty impressive, however, not all apps work. For example, I don't believe that Waze works, which would be my current number one reason for wanting this feature.

C-NET posted a video of Android Auto which is available now in the 2015 Hyundai Sonata:

Maybe Mercedes has been holding back on CarPlay so that their head units can support both phones.

At least Chevy is building a car that supports CarPlay.
Will MB follow suit? Will any 2015 MB models (as previously promised) support CarPlay? MB has been quiet about CarPlay for many months.

Confirmed, Apple CarPlay will be available in the MY17 GLS, due to hit showrooms in April 2016. Which means the GLS could be the first Mercedes-Benz to offer CarPlay.
Also new to the GLS:
- Magic Vision Control
- Mercedes logo projected to the ground when entering the vehicle
- Semi-autonomous driving mode
- Parallel and Perpendicular parking assist

The Magic Vision Control is a welcome feature for any car - the current mass-supplied sprayers are a mess on all new cars. The Semi-autonomous feature is awesome and things to come across the entire industry. Great to see Mercedes leading this. The logo-thing is cool but can be garish at the same time. Range Rovers have this now and honestly, it's pushing the cheese. The parking assist is well... just that.

you were on the LR4 forum few years ago. So was I. Welcome to the GL forum. Good to have you.

Great seeing you here as well.
Did you keep your LR4?
I really love our GL.
We traded in our LR4 for a '13 RRS... I had ordered a '16 Td6 RRS and was close to buying it when it came in... but it was slightly smaller than my '16 and realized it was quickly a toy rather than something that was going to work for me and the family.
