Illuminated Star Fix
I purchased a 2014 GL350 last year with the illuminated star option. I was disappointed to learn that it only lit with locking and unlocking. This week I took my car in for Service A and spoke to the service manager at RBM of Atlanta.
They were able to fix this: the service invoice showed that they removed the European Spec Illuminated Star with the US Spec harness. It was a fairly extensive issue of removing multiple panels, but in the end it worked - now the Illuminated star is switched to when the headlights are on/off. All I wanted all along. And it was a no charge fix.
