Did anyone consider Lexus LX570?

Debating on a pre-owned GL550 or Lexus LX570. I think I know the GL pretty well, but don't know much about the LX. Going to drive it tomorrow. I know it's more of an off-road vehicle since it's based on the land cruiser and is on a truck frame. Quirky third row seats and tailgate. But wife loves Lexus service over MB and me too. And a bit cheaper, but not by a ton.

Anyone else seriously consider it?

Just felt it was tired and in need of updates. Thought the ride was no where near what you get from the GL. I also thought the GL looked more modern. I used to drive the GL470 which I traded for the GL. I loved Lexus service and wanted to love the LX, but I just could not find a way to like it. Like you said, old school rear seats and if I remember, less overall cargo capacity. That's all I can remember for now. Also, the LX was a real gas hog!

Lexux LX570 rides like a truck, take a turn at 20 mph and the car feels very top heavy.

There's a somewhat twisty test drive route that I'm planning on tomorrow as I am curious how it handles. That's one thing I've always liked about the GL: How much it drives like a car. It's easier to handle and park than my 5 series!

I know I'm biased as a GL owner but when I started looking I never made it past the Lexus website after looking at the photos and particularly the specs of the LX. Never even bothered with a test drive....

To the two top threads. What's to love about Lexus service??? For the passed 5 years I leased 3 Lexus car(IS ES RX) small but great to get around the city. And owned Mercedes since forever as even family always had a Mercedes in the fleet. Anyway back to loving Lexus service, here in NYC I can't get a loaner the next day even if it's an emergency they always say it's a week or more wait, it always takes a long time before they write you up and set you free to go and sit in their ok lounge or one has to take a cab home or work if they can't wait why they figuring out what's wrong or servicing ones car. So just two examples here why I won't love their service(I like their cars tho, never no problems). Mercedes will get me in to a loaner even if I call and hour before and if all are taken they give something from the lot. Write ups are instant and you either enjoying they're coffee in a awesome looking lounge or on your way home or work in their loaner. Sorry for off topic but I had to chime in. Again no offense as I like Lexus cars and own one currently. Maybe just here in NYC the service sux.
