Looking to replace my tires with something better and seeing the lack of choices I was thinking of trying a 255/55-19 tire instead of 275/55-19. Does anyone know if that will fit on our rims. From a quick look I don't think there will be any problem with a 20 mm change. Does anyone know otherwise?

Speedometer will read 75 mph when I'm going 72.9 mph. Which will actually slow down my wife, so that's good.

Do you have the 8.5x19 inch wheels? In theory a 255 on an 8.5 rim should be fine, but of course it will be easier to scrub your rims on the kerb than with the 275Originally Posted by SnowCub

255x60 would keep your gearing closer to the original spec, and should be better for economy. But in all it should work if you do not mind the gearing change and will be careful of the rims
