Where to buy OEM running boards?

I would like to install running board to 2014 GL 450. I have seen tons on them on eBay for $500-1000. And many DIY videos on YouTube.. But before going aftermarket road, I would like to try to find OEM.

I called my dealer today and was told they will be happy to install running boards to my 2014 GL 450 for $652 labor and $1944 parts. The last is particularly outrageous considering how much it costs as MB option. Any suggestions where to buy OEM staff? Thanks.

Stealership! C'mon..... they have to pay for their frappuccino machines and marble floors somehow!
I have been there before. I'd stick with the OEM boards. I have installed OEM running boards myself on both the GL450 & 350 X164(previous version). They were not illuminated so I have no idea how the wiring is set up down there on these (X166). Just looking at our '15 GL, the running boards look very similar to the previous gen. Definitely check with the dealer by comparing part numbers. I can't remember a whole lot about the installation details but I do remember it being pretty easy; it took a couple of hours but I work slow. Put on your favorite tunes and get dirty!
Check out getmercedesparts.com. You should be able to get them for less than $1,000.

You could find a MB certified body shop in your area and have them order the parts and do the install. They would probably be better/faster hence cheaper than the dealership.

Thanks.

getmercedesparts.com has individual components but the total cost seems to sum up to even higher number: 2 x ($632+$468 +..) ~ $2,200. I think they used to make a kit for x164 (for ~1,000) but it is not available for x166.

Any suggestion on good aftermarket option?
