2015 GL450 newbie questions

I was lurker of this forum for few months now. Now it's the time to get new SUV as I was changing job few months ago.

My state has incompetent auto dealers whether its BMW or MB or Volvo. They don't want to sell below MSRP. So now it's time to go with out of state dealers.

Found few GL450 online which matched my specs. on out of state dealers website. Couple of qns.,

1. Can dealer mark up Acq. cost? MBUSA.com shows GL450 acq. cost $795. Dealer quoted me today acq. cost $1175. All other numbers RV, MF are correct in the lease quote.

2. I will be getting FEP discount thru my company. Hasn't submitted the form yet. Will do it tomorrow. As per aeggroup in the other thread, Fleet discount is $3000 from Nov 1st.

My question is should I tell dealer now that I will have FEP discount at the time of delivery or just finalized all the numbers thru email now and when I go there to pickup the car just hand over my FEP form. Dealer is 17 hrs drive from my place. I have to take one way flight and drive the car back home.

My concern is if I tell the dealer about FEP discount upfront before finalizing the lease quote, they won't go above certain percentage 3-4%. but as per the forum there is room to go at least 7% of MSRP.

Btw internet manager gave me quote today ~approx. 6% off MSRP.

3. I'm sure senior member has done out of state lease several time. Any other things I need get to aware of and check before I take the one way flight to pick up the car.

I really appreciate your advice!

Craig.

I would have the fleet conversation before you travel, but lock down on a price and then bring up you need to add in your fleet discount and want to make sure you have the right paperwork to bring with you on your flight.

I would not tell a dealer about my fleet dicount at the time of negotiation. First negotiate your sellling price the best you can. After your price is confirmed - you can tell your salesperson that you have a fleet discount and you would like to apply it to the price and recalculate your lease.
For GL450 - I think you can do better than 7% off of MSRP. I just got my GL350 couple days ago and my dealer told me, that China market has beed closed to exporters not while ago. This should bring the price of new GL's down here in US. I dont know if its true or not...just telling what I've heard.

Thank you Jim, I have sent mail to my sales person about my FEP eligibility.

Thanks aeggroup,
Yup, I like the price he gave me at the first shot. It's around 7% now. I sent him email last night about my FEP eligibility.

and thanks to you, FEP for GL is $3000 from 11/1/2014 - 12/1/2014. I just got my FEP incentive form back with control number. I sent the form last night around 2 AM. Got the form back 9:30AM.

I'm not sure, but I think according to current FEP promotion you have to take delivery of the car till December 1, 2015. Just make sure you understand whatever they ment there correctly and good luck to you. BTW...we have many leasing brokers companies in NY that can give you a great deal on your lease and you can talk straight forward to those guys about your FEP discount. You can fly here to pick the car up. I got couple previous cars from them and can give you their contact info if you interested. PM me if u need it.

ok thanks, just checked again in my form and your screen shot.

This is what is listed in both.

Model Year 2015 FEP Incentives
*Effective 11/1/14 - 12/1/14 (DDR must be reported by 12/1/14)
GL-Class (all)* $3,000

btw I'm in west coast. It will be too far for me to drive the car back or I have to spent $1000+ for shipping.
