Trying to upgrade factory head unit ML GL
I am growing more and more frustrated with our factory entertainment system., but have not seen any viable alternative until this morning.
Has any one had an experience with the Alpine X800-d ML? I see that Alpine lists this as drop in replacement for the factory head unit but not in the US.
I contacted Alpine US, but they would not provide any information for overseas models.
I have seen some no-brand Chinese made units online but I don't feel comfortable with these units.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated

The Alpine X800-d ML was designed for the "older" W164 (ML) and X164 (GL) models. This thread is for the X166 GL Class so that Alpine head unit would not work.
