MBrace Remote Start is Coming!
Pictures speak for themselves.
Found this from an Agency that did the graphic design work for the Mbrace App.
It only just appeared so I think this is recent (and am sure an inadvertent posting)
It looks like it's coming, Here's hoping I get it on my GL

Looks like it is going to happen. One of the other Mercedes blog sites suggests that it will be by the summer, but not sure which models it will work in. Mercedes website also has a pdf that says that it's coming soon and you will be able to control the temp from the app. It will be neat if it works and doesn't have any bugs in it.

I really hope this happens.
We were promised vehicle diagnostic reports, etc on my 2013 that were never delivered. I hope they have finally figured out they need to make it worthwhile, since I don't think many viewed paying for MBRACE as a value.
My new RAM 2500 remote start app works great! It turns on the heated seats and steering wheel if below 40.

just got confirmation that MBRACE connect is indeed coming and will be have remote start included as part of the phone app. remote start will only be available on certain 2016 model vehicles, not for any 2015 or older cars, and will be available on next gen vehicles after remodels (CLS, SLK, SL, E-Cab, E-Coupe, etc). remote start will only be through phone app and not with key fob. MBRACE connect will be free for 5 years on all new vehicles with no credit card number needed for enrollment like they have done. remote diagnostics, location, remote lock/unlock will also be included in standard/free package. 3 other levels of MBRACE will be available for enrollment fee. basic level moves down to $199 per year and is what many know as the basic MBRACE currently with crash notification, safety alerts, etc.
wifi hotspot will become a standard accessory, with service available for $18/month (unlimited data usage via 3G network connection) along with streaming internet radio via TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Mercedes internet radio. for $20/month, access to concierge service. both of these levels require the 'safety' package for $199/year. will be bundled together for $28/month for the internet connectivity and concierge service in addition to the $199/year basic package.

I am SO HAPPY this is going to be factory installed! We have had the drone installed on our two ML's and it is the same concept. I only wish we could do a little more like start the heated or cooled seats!

I actually saw the remote start work in person this morning on a 2016 GLE Coupe. Pretty impressive. Lots of detailed information through the phone app. If you've had the MBRACE app on your phone, the original 'locate' button on the key fob through the app is now the remote tart button. The locate button is now located on the bottom of the display screen next to 'Send2Benz' button.
There are some safety measures in place, tho. You can only remote start the vehicle twice before requiring a key cycle to reset the remote start counter. Engine will only run for 10 minutes and then will shut down.

I leased Lexus ES, and has it. In Florida I start it to cool down the car. Mercedes is way behind talking technologywise. Entering a destination into navigation is a joke. The ride of X166 is excellent though.
BTW Lexus also has built in Bing, yelp, spotify, pandora, iheartradio, etc, etc.. May be MB will catch up in next X168 (lol)

Please understand this is "mbrace Remote Start" - which as accurately outlined in one prior post is app/Smartphone executed - and will be available for GLS MY17 forward - not GL MY16.
In SUV's - MY16 for GLA, GLC, and GLA.
That said - if you want Remote Start - with existing X166 Keyless Go models - there are at least two options out there from reputable aftermarket - MidCity Engineering Smartkey is good option - which is BOTH key FOB operable, and well as Smartphone operable...

Dealer A told me no remote start was available. I sent the above graphic to Dealer B and he said it was part of the 2016 embrace which is included for 5 years. I sure hope he is right! Although, I have to confess I am a seeing is believing type of person. Hopefully someone has taken delivery of a 2016 and can confirm or deny!
Btw, I have used the midcity engineering guys twice and they are complete rock stars!

It's a shame that MB decided until now to put remote start in their vehicles. I have had this in my '08 H2 and my previous ESVs and current Escalade ESV Platinum for a while on my keyfob.
Most American car companies like Dodge and Ford got them as well for a long time.
Are they going to change the keyfob which includes the remote start? Like when you press the benz logo, it will start the car?

I agree this has taken much too long as well as many other technology improvements.
I have the midcity third party remote start on my 2010 E-Class and it's built into the keyfob. The panic button starts/stops the engine.

bad news
Just picked up 2016 e350 this week. Downloaded mBrace app. Remote unlock/lock, Send2Benz, and remote horn - all work ok. However, no option for Remote Start - even though it's advertised on mBrace site as being standard on all 2016 models:

mBrace Support confirmed that Remote Start should be available, but I can't see it. =(
My experience thus far - with mBrace customer service and Wi-Fi - has been horrible. Wi-Fi Hotspot isn't working either.

I just wanted to check if you were able to get the remote start to work on your E yet. I'm really curious about it. Do you think it as simple as a software update? Or do you think that the E class is part of the disclaimer *not available on all models*. I can't imagine but I'm not an insider on how Benz works.😀
