Getting Brake Wear Warnings at 28K in 2013 GL
With that said, I have found the brakes to be a bit annoying since about 19K. From time to time, they feel rough when coming to a stop. The dealer said that it was due to some sort of coating that was on the rotors and that it would wear away. A few weeks ago I notice that the steering would shimmy when stopping. This was probably due to driving in very heavy rain and flooding. I was able to smooth things out by braking very hard about three times from about 30mph. Of course, I made sure there was nobody else around. I guess driving in heavy rain causes the rotors to warp a bit. Really???

Anyway, I thought the brakes would last far more than 30K. I am thinking that maybe this is some sort of sensor problem. I hope so.
So, that's that. Honestly, the brakes are the only issue I have encountered in what has been a very solid SUV.
I always bed my brakes when my rotors/pads start making noise in any of my car:

It sounds like you've been advise a similar procedure.

Thanks for the advice on the proper way to bed the brakes. Very interesting.
