Post Broken underbody shield, do I need to replace?

I noticed a piece of plastic hanging off my car this weekend. Went to see what it was today and it seems to have broken off from the underbody shield. Do I need to look into replacing this piece? There are holes in it so I assume road salt and such gets into this area anyways. But will I be more suseptible to rust? Should I spray some rubberized undercoating on it?

Looks like someone cut a curb/corner too close - and then hung up on that curb on that plastic shield - it did what it was supposed to do.

It it was me - I would price out the replacement for my reference - based on the ownership plan - how long I planned to keep the car - lease or or purchase note - based on price I would choose if I wanted to repair - heck you could probably pop rivet a piece of flexible ABS over it if you needed to..

Keep the beat !

Get that fixed, and I guess it can be a insurance claim.....You never what wiring or what kind of stuff is beneath.

For short term repair - buy a roll of 4" "Black Gaffer's Tape" - like a stage gaffer - won't necessarily be as pretty as you want - but will do what you need done..
