Advice on extended warranty
TIA!
TIA!
But make sure you only get ELW from Mercedes not XYZ thief company, once you buy the warranty it will get updated into the Mercedes system.
Thanks
The Mercedes dealer cost of the warranty day of purcahse stays the same up to 30 days from date of purchase - after 30 days from date of purchase the MB dealer cost of the warranty goes up 5% - and retail pirce of the warranty goes up 15% (a bit more wiggle room).
Frankly - extended new car warranty - the vast majority of that money goes to Mercedes - delaer margin on the extended new car warranty is low - a bit of wiggle room, not much.
If the Finance guy is sharp - if financing thru MBFS - the extended new car warranty can be treated as 0% and be evenly amortized over the term of the note.
For most states - when added at time of purchased warranty is taxed at same rate as the vehcile - and if added later most states charge retail sales tax, which for most states can be a couple of pts higher on tax.
"Unused extended warranty" is 100% refundable if you choose to sell or trade early.
You can check the MSRP for the extended new car warranty with the dealer.
With a good dealer - and a good Finance guy - the extended new car warranty presentation should be smooth and understandable.
With my 09, I traded it at 5 years with 2 years remaining on the warranty and I got $0 back...

@gotzillar - The quote I got for 7 yrs/100k is $2950 from Jeffrey so far.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Most dealerships say the cost is $4750 for "84mos/100k" Option.
Those dealerships claim that this is the set price no matter where I go. Is that correct?
A few other dealerships I contacted, out of state, have offered $4550.00 (California) and $4000 (Georgia).
This leads me to believe that the $4750 is NOT a set price if other dealerships are offering lower prices. What do you all think?
Also, what is a reasonable price for "84mos/100k" ELW Option? What have you all recently paid for the "84mos/100k" ELW Option? Please share.

The length of time starts from the day the car was put into service, thus you purchased a 1 year extension to the 4yr 50k normal warranty, correct? Or did you buy the third party plan that starts after the 4yr 50k ? Two totally different plans and limitations, etc.
1 yr 2 yr 3yr extended from your 4yr 50k @ 75 or 100k max miles.
125K no longer offered unless you go third party ( something YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO Unless you don't have the choice due to age, miles, AMG, CPO etc ) )
