My wife's GL350 was in an accident on Saturday. I wasn't in the car but it was a relatively low speed impact (20mph or less) from what I understand. Everyone is ok and so far no residual soreness has come up for her.
I assume you are in Canada given the AMG package on the 350. someone ran a red light and did half the damage that yours has to our 08 GL and the repair bill through MB came to about $25,000.
Yes, all will be covered by insurance. It is being towed to the body shop today for an estimate. My initial impression was that they would likely repair vs. write off but I'm not so sure any more.
A quick update, the preliminary estimate came back at $19,500. It's a little less than I was guessing but the GL is considered repairable. They will be tearing it apart in the next few days looking for additional damage.
It seems I won't be seeing this repair through to the end. I drove by my local dealer and they happened to have a fully loaded 2015 with only 8,000km sitting on the lot. They gave me a reasonable trade in price for my broken 2013 even though it will take 4+ weeks for the body shop to complete the repair.
Yes it was a partially at fault accident even though one of the two other people involved in the accident was charged with careless driving. I expect the insurance rates for her vehicle will increase somewhat.
