Deciding between winter tires...
I am going to get winters for the GL and I'm stuck between the blizzak DMV-2 and an h rated alternative such as the pirelli scorpion winter or even nokian r2suvs. Theres a huge price gap @$100 per tire more for the performance snows. I've only ever had h rated winters. I'm affraid that the blizzak - t rated I believe, will drive like snow tires (loud, lower grip, lesser ride etc..)
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

I currently use the Pirelli's on 21's (Only option) and they are an okay winter tire. Better than all-season, but not as good as Blizzak's or Nokian's. But if you do mostly high-way driving like me with snow cleared roads, Pirelli's are a good choice and will most likely last the longest (tire tread) if that matters toyou.
Blizzak's were the best deep snow/ice traction I've had - but wear out 2-3 winters and can be very loud on dry pavement.
Ride quality is very similar to oem Pir Scorps but road noise is certainly more noticeable. Not unbearable by any stretch, but more noticeable.
Grip is not much changed, as imo, the Scorpions were not all that sporty.
This is 2015 GL450 with 20" appearance package wheels. I would expect the DMV2's to be similar.

So I got the Nokian R2 SUVs. in the regular size 275/50 20 (usually I go -1 size for snows).
I got a great deal - $242/each installed. The ride is a touch harsher than the UHP contis which is expected. There is a slight grumble/road noise. Also expected. Th handling is fine. Its still 55 degrees so I haven't driven in snow yet. I have high expectations. They are speed rated to 106mph which is the lowest speed rating I've ever driven on - and one which I almost reached yesterday.
Thanks for the replies
Happy holidays,
