2016 Mercedes Benz GL450
Benz Newbie

Hi Everybody!

Just wanted to say hello as the new owner of a 2016 GL450; my first benz. Been a very loyal BMW customer for last 12 years (335, M3, 540, 535, X5, X5 M Sport) and figured it was time to upgrade! Sure hope this will stick with me for a while, but I am enjoying the ride, much different from my latest X5 M Sport.

As we're due for a major snow this weekend, can anyone share their experience with the 20" tires in the deep snow? (Pirelli Scorpion M+S)I've been looking at the tirerack.com and the reviews are not good at all ....

Thanks,
Michael

And, that's why I have 19" Nokian snow tires.

Glad to finally see a former BMW supporter admit that moving to a MB is an upgrade

Congrats. I had quite a few BMWs (including 2 M3s), owned them from 1994 through 2010 and would never buy a BMW again. Congrats on the upgrade. Enjoy the ride.

Like most things.............everything in moderation! Your OEM tires should be just fine in snow assuming you take it easy, leave plenty of time to brake and keep your distance from others (if possible). Acceleration is not a problem..........braking is the challenge and is true of any tire on a vehicle weighing as much as ours.
