I know this has probably been discussed a while back

but real quick, besides the outside fascia, and the silly stick on screen infotainment system is there any other differences.

Seating is the same, getting in and out of the back third row is the same.

drivers assistance packages etc same? anything else major?

Steering wheel now 3-spoke with 3x2 buttons. New Individual suspension settings; 6-mode Dynamic Select controller. New name. New front and rear designs (power domes, twin lamellas, air intakes that don't take in any air, chrome trim changes, visible tail pipes). New headlamps with integrated DRLs. ILS LED headlamps option. New LED taillights. New Sport design. NTG 5*1 COMAND. Connect.me with remote vehicle status and Remote Start. Double sun visors. MB logo projector door lights. 5 years MBRACE included. The big mechanical change is the switch to the 9G transmission, but yes, it's a "refresh" of the GL and is still a X166.

Great list, jbattan. 5 years of included MBRACE was also on the 2016 GL. My 2016 GL450 also has double sun visors.

double sun visors are a biggie....my 2012 E has them

dont care for aesthetic aspects..

wonder if the 9g is worth waiting for 7g tranny

i take it rear seat functionality and the headrest issue with easy entry will persist on?

I hate the touch pad, its horrible, we have it in the S class and used it with loaner C classes...such a waste
