GL350 windshield replacement
I am getting my 2011 windshield replaced, and there are two models that come up - one with the compass and one without. The compass is part of the rearview, so that shouldn't factor into the windshield, yet there are the two different options. Am I able to replace the windshield with the "non-compass" windshield, or is there some tie-in with the compass and windshield that I'm missing?

So you know - the 2011 GL450 is series X164 - the X166 forum here is for 2012 + GL's - the "new" generation.
Please repost in X164 for more pointed/expereinced replies.
If you have Compass function - and replace with windshield without Compass function - using OE glass - then your stand a change Compass will not work correctly.
Has to do with how the "electronic window" is cut - with opening for compass sensor or not..

Thanks - I don't use the compass and don't need it on the replacement, i'm just wondering if there are differences in fitting. if they are the same, I'm fine getting a replacement without the compass function. But i'll post in X164 and see what i can find
