2013 GL350 X166 only rear inner pad worn out
I notified the dealer that the mechanic failed the inspect properly. I had a follow-up appointment and the dealer lubricated those sliding pins and put new pads for free.
When I took the wheel out, I remember that the inner side of rotor had a slight lip developing. I wonder if the rotors should have been replaced too.
Dealers are so eager to replace BOTH pads and rotors all the time, but not when things have to be free.
Should I be concerned for anything? If rear/driver pins weren't stuck, then I probably have two rear rotors with different thicknesses.
Today, while car was running in neutral, I lifted each wheel and spun. Front ones spun well without any noise. But the rear one was making some sort of rubbing noise and barely spun 1/2 - 1 rotation. This seems like pistons are sticking.
Any thought?
Unfortunately, this is perfectly normal. I recommend ordering a set of DGC1630 brake pads from Autozone (less than half the cost of MB pads) and considering it a high wear consumable.
On the bright side, the traction control works well
I am NOT even talking about uneven wear.
There is drag while gear is in neutral. Rear brake pads (only) do not completely release. It makes no sense to me. Imagine you are riding a bicycle with brakes are touching wheels all the time.
