Looks good. I was tempted to do the same as well since it seems easy enough for a DIY. But when I saw a CLA rolling around with the star missing, I realized some folks may take it as you being a douche and may resort to ripping it off.
I can live without the attention.

I just did mine today. I spliced into the Harness (had 2 with blue tape). I only found a purple and blue wire but I tested it and it works. My LED star stay on a bit longer than the running lights but shut off shortly after. BTW I got a china knock off light from Amazon.com for $45 and it fit perfect.
*Thanks for the advice in this thread!

hello GL people, just curious if doing illimunated star on a w212 would be the same? I'm comfortable doing most things to cars and motorcycles but electircal stuff scares me :-)

Just to confirm with images.
If you already have the illuminated star, its power will come from the internal door supply line connected to the passenger door or something.
This is line 1 in the photos.
So if you are doing this modification; can you quick connect to line 1?
Or do you need to extend line 2 (which goes to the star itself) to the purple line in the bundle and connect them together and leave line 1 alone?
Thanks
