2016 GL350 thoughts

We have the opportunity to lease a brand new (not a loaner or demo) 2016 GL350 Bluetec ($75,xxx MSRP) for $988.xx per month including the state's 7.75% sales tax on each payment. The deal is 24 months, 12,000 miles per year with 2 prepaid services in the payments. Zero cap cost reduction, first month payment, bank fee and registration fees due at signing only. We only do 24 month leases and have 2 at all times so I feel the discount on the car is good from our long term dealer. The issue the money factor and residual are just so so despite the huge dealer discount to move this car. I understand the GLS is out but is just a facelifted car and no diesel GLS yet.

What do you think? Seems like a high payment to me. We looked at getting the GLE300d instead but payments would be like $869 and we currently pay $803 for our 2015 ML250 Bluetec.

Feeling confused but I need to make a decision by 8/31/16.

A gaggle of MB's
2016 GL350d money factor is "MB standard rate" - versus GL450/550 are "promotional" money factor - that's the kicker.

2016 GL350d 24 month residual is 65% - higher 4%-5% higher than GL450/GL550 respectively - again standard MF is the kicker.

There isn't a 2017 GLS350d ... that's a "dead" subject courtesy of VW debacle..

I am skeptical about 2017 GLE-d being possible due to the Fed's

Stick with you instinct and don't worry another car will come along. Buying the right car at the wrong dealership will bring you only nightmares and problems. As far as VMI, you have the right to know everything about the car you wanna buy. I got every service right up for my car. After I negotiated with my salesmen I went straight into service and spoke with my service rep and got all of the Vehicles history. I mean if you bought a car from a private party you would want all the information you can get on it. This information is what tells you how well the car was taken car of and also tells you the where work was done and if they actually fixed it. A lot of stealerships dont tell you **** some tell you enough to make you happy and the rest might tell you the truth and nothing but the truth even if policy dictacts something else.
