Thumbs down Soft close door operation

Hey guys, I just got a new used 2013 x166 that has the soft close door option. For some reason when I picked the car up, the front ones never worked at all. I took it back and they said they reset the latches and they started working. However I noticed on the front doors only, if you slam the door shut (without using the soft close) you can hear and see the power latches still trying to pull the door shut even though it's already closed and hear the motor binding a few seconds. They've already replaced both front latches since this happened and it's still doing it a second time. They tell me it's normal??? The rear ones don't act this way at all and they've never seen another x166 with the soft close option to show me otherwise... I'm concerned because it literally sounds like something is going to break inside if the door gets shut past the first latch. Is there a possible programming issue? Thank you for your support

A gaggle of MB's
Frankly - I have not seen this specific issue.

If you are covered under remaining-new-MB-warranty or CPO-warranty - then let your dealer sort it out.

I have seen a different issue occur - when the soft-close is pulling in - driver/passenger changes their mind and decides they don't want to close the door after all - so they yank the door handle back during closing operation - which trips the safety system for that specific soft-close door - which requires the system to be be reset for that door.

Good luck !

Thabk you for your response. They just replaced the two front latches $946 and it still does it. I just don't buy their story that it's normal operation. I think there's a communication issue for the second latch micro switch. I'll have to go back and talk to the tech I suppose. Any other input is appreciated.
