In Warranty Service Request
One problem is that the tires have a toe wear and the ride seems to have an uneven noise. A local tire company recommended I take it to to the dealer just in case there are bearing/struts/suspension issues that could be covered under warranty.
Secondly, when I start the vehicle in the mornings, the sounds of the engine seems much rough and louder than the other starts during the way. Anyone ever have this issue? Normal?
Third, when driving on curvy roads, the vehicle hovers a lot to the left and right as if I'm on a boat ride
. Is this normal with the GL450? Any other areas you would recommend I look at ask the service manager to look for under warranty as this is is my first Merc buy?
Base warranty expires 2/2017, goal is to get as much fixed under it

Appreciate the help folks. Thanks a ton!!
Had this done on my 2013 GL450 - no more rattle
Here's a PDF of the procedure - print it out and show the service advisor if they don't know about it: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...37132246,d.eWE

They weren't happy with the 5-6 requests I put in. Said it will take 4-5 days to inspect, resolve. Leather seat peeling and seat back plastic cuts will also be looked into he said. Hopefully they are replaced.
Refused to replace panoramic screen , it's got to small holes. Not sure how they appeared.
Also refused to replace illuminated MB metal strip at the door step , that shows 2-3 three rust spots. Anyone have this issue? Was told not covered under warranty.

But going forward I've to utilize the dealership again as the X3 (wife) has free maintenance for 4yrs and the GL, I prepaid for the 3 services but I've yet to bring the GL in for any work.

.Like you said, I'm really not worried about the cosmetic issues with the car. If they get those 2 big issues resolved that would be great. Can't wait to see what they say next week. Right now the shiny new C300 loaner is what I'm enjoying. Just hard to fit into it,

I doubt that they wont cover the rust spots, I would say try the another dealer once this work is done after 2 weeks. But as said it should be covered because its 4/50K which includes cosmetic. Your Service Advisor seems to be a jerk or is just not interested in typing on his IPAD about your concern, and I see that a lot happening.
Another you can do is just go to the MB Warranty site get the cosmetic details take that print out to the Service Manager and tell him I dont want to go MBUSA for this petty issue either you take care of it or I will give a nice survey when I get one with my experience, I am sure there would be some agreement.
Thanks.
My '14 CPO is showing a lot of spots on the running boards. I'm pretty sure it is from the harsh chemicals used in completely touch-less auto car washes. In fact Mercedes recommends not using those as it will cause discoloration.
1) Front suspension/tire wear - originally diagnosed by a indie tire shop who properly recommended dealer alignment - alignment will NOT be a warranty item - if there are worn components - depsning on what they are and the type of wear CAN BE warranty items
2) Start up noise - yes could be warranty item due to tensioner - could be normal start-up noise - diagnosis will tell
3) Panorama Screen - which I take to mean the sunshade - "holes" would be be a warranty item unless it was failure of the fabric - and personally I have never seen the fabric fail.
4) Leather wear - if leather or MBTex wear if MBtex - depends on type of wear, really
5) Seat backs - if "bubbled" which has happened that is warranty item - if material has been cut/nicked by licking/stowing items - non warranty - note a auto upholstery guy can take care of nucks/cuts affordably
6) Illuminated front door sills - stains not warranty item - stainless cleaner or white vinegar can usually remove "rust" stains in that stainless piece
7) running boards - discoloration not warranty item - those are aluminum pieces - some report success with "Bartenders Friend" powders cleaner - I have no idea about those reports.
If it bothers anyone - the aluminum pieces can be pulled from each side and resprayed with different finish and/or even powder coated - on my customers GL/GLS63 I ALWAYS powder coat - on Night Package GLS makes things super cool - on any GLS63 I won't let a customer roll knowing those aluminum pcs are always a pain down the road... who doesn't get a quick "touch less wash" every now and then ?
2. There was also a tranny seal leak(?) They uncovered during the full inspection, replaced seal.
3. Driver seat base replaced with new one.
Above stuff under warranty. So the other repairs paid for were -
1. Rubber grips in running board costed $80 for 2 of them. Was told the labor in that is high.
2. Seat back panel cuts wasnt warranty issue. Costed $400
3. The uneven sounding when driving and vibration is gone. Basically ruled out bearing and suspension issues. SA guaranteed it was the tires. Probably used tires were put on by selling dealer. Asked them to replace it with Michelin LTX, $1400 installed. I told him if I see the same toe in wear I will dump the vehicle back on him.

Vehicle rides very very smooth and quiet now.
Door squeaks all fine as well.
My driver side seat has some fading and discoloration which I suspect it from clothing bleeding into the leather. Not major but noticeable when looking up close. Also, as with leather products, with prolong seating, you can usually notice scuff marks also. When I brought it up during the purchasing time, I was told it is considered normal wear. I suppose with the color bleed, a leather cleaner and conditioner may take care of it, but I haven't tried it yet.
