Help with CPO GL450
1. Which year CPO should I be looking at 2013 or 2014?
2. is there any change in the engine?
3.What are the must have packages (this will be difficult to find in a cpo) so must haves vs. good to have.
4. How is the driving dynamics of this car, does it feel big to drive, I read some owners saying that its hard to park and backup. I will be using it around town most of the time as a DD.
5. I saw a 2014 GL450 with 18,000 miles for $52,000 is that a good price. since it has 2 more years left and 32,000 miles left, how would the CPO warranty work?
6.Between this and the X5 which would be a good DD?

A 2014 CPO will have a born on date available from the Carfax. The factory warranty will carry the car 4 years and 50k from that date. The CPO gives an extra year, so 5 years from the born on date, and unlimited mileage. For an addl fee you can buy 2 extra years of CPO warranty. In our case it would have cost $3,500 but we didn't buy it yet. Supposedly that will add an addl 15% to the cost of the warranty when we go to buy it. If we do, we will shop around with some of the dealers who are mentioned on this site.

Looks like it has almost everything except for the Active Curve drive but those are rare to find. Designo would have been great as well.
But for me, the essential packages are there which is the lighting package, lane keeping/assist and parking assist. But it has those plus more: appearance, upgraded sound, illuminated star (a show off bonus).
Only downside (or for some folks, it is an upside) is the MBtex instead of real leather. Also am not a fan of completely black interior if that's the vehicle up there.
I paid $51k for a '14 GL450 with 16k miles. I don't have the upgraded sound (don't care about this as I mainly listen to talk radio) but do have real leather seats. When I was searching, there were tons of GL450 for much lower price in the range of $45-$48k but have double the miles or missing one of the essential package I was looking for (lighting, parking assist, lane keeping, leather).
