Possible to drive without Neckpro installed?

Possible to drive without Neckpro installed?
I've seen videos of how to remove a Neckpro head restraint from the front seats.

But is it possible to drive the vehicle without the Neckpro installed in the front passenger seat?

I'm guessing the computer will detect this and it will cause a fault code.

I will be riding at the rear and would want the head restraint removed for better visibility.

From what I understand - Neckpro is "mechanical" - and not a electronic safety system.. old tech actually..
