Today my camera is not working. Nothing comes on. The radio display does not get replaced by camera. When I go to settings, camera, it's black.

Could it be something simple I can try to fix myself?

Something like this happened to my 15 GL as well it didnt came for 2 days and one fine it just started working normally and has been working fine since 1 year....

It has happened to my 13 GL a few times. Out of no apparent reason the cameras dont work. When I restart the car after 10-15 minutes, they magically start working again. I assume it is some software malfunction or sometimes I do find the back up camera on the trunk door stuck in the open position. 10-15 minutes later after the car is turned off the back up camera lid closes and the system works again.

Seems like some GL's have hidden backup cameras, where my GL550 backup camera is exposed all the time.

I don't think it is suppose to be open all the time. You can manually open it via COMAND to clean/wipe the lens cover. But otherwise, when not in use, it recessed back into the cover plate.

This just happened to my 2014 GL. Cameras would not activate during two full off/on cycles while running errands around town. I should note that prior to this my passenger mirror tilt down had stopped working in reverse. The day after the camera stopped working it just worked again (I made no attempt to fix it), and so did the passenger mirror tilt down. Very odd, but have not had the problem again.

One other thing potentially related to this: My parking assist feature does not work correctly, it never identifies a parking spot correctly (as described in the manual), but if I am stopped at a light adjacent to a guardrail or solid curb it often gives me the arrow telling me I am next to a valid parking spot, even though I am clearly not.

My camera America back on a couple days later without intervention. I think it's telling me I want a GLS.
