new owner of used 2014 gl450

hello all, i am very new to these forums and i am here for some advise, i purchased a used not cpo 2014 gl450 that has 32k miles from a place (not sure a MB dealer or not) named eliteautobrokers in MD, will i benefit buying a 3 yr/100000 extended warranty ( plan on using this for family trips only around 7-8k miles an year, i just got a quote from carchex for $5150 for 4yr 51k mile from the time of purchase within the next 3 months),it has original warranty till 07/2018 and when i registered on me app i found out it also has prepaid maintainance until 08/17 probably brought by previous owner, so will this maintainance transfer to me or not, i have read on lot of forums here but i was very confused on the various suggestions, so my simple questions are is it worth to buy elw and also extended maintainance ( i read there were issues with the transmission and brakes warping), thanks a bunch in advance.

I have a 2013 GL350 which I bought new. In the 82K miles or so that i have on my car, I have used the ELW a few times. All minor fixes, but might have costed $$$. So for me the ELW is well worth it given what I had paid for it at the time. At the time, I had bought a 5 yr/120K mile ELW.

Hope that helps.

Curious as to what issues you have had with your GL450 over 82k miles, specifically what the ELW did not cover. My factory warranty is set to expire in the next few months and the ELW will start after that.

The ELW covered everything. I have not paid a dime out of my own pocket as of yet. The minor issues were:

1) The driver seat adjuster on the driver door and memory buttons stopped working.
2) The mechanism that controls the direction of the air from the vent broke. New vent register was put in.

I havent had anything major issues on the car as of yet. My ELW is through MB, and so far I haven't had any frustrations from using it.

God to hear. I had 2 of my airmatic bags and some other small items go at around 50k miles on my 2007 GL. That was also a very reliable vehicle for me.

$5150 sounds very high - check with MB if you are eligible for their extended warranty, then do a search here on the forum - many of us have shopped the MB ELW around and have found dealers discounting it (I think I paid $3300 for mine - 7 yrs/100K total)
