Hey guys, I am new here. I am thinking about purchasing 2015 GL 450. Of coz, it's my first Merc. I saw one with 43k miles. Is that too much miles for 2015 model? It is going to be a long term investment. Also, I have some warranty left on it. Just to cover myself, I am planning on getting extended warranty. I seen extended warranty only goes up to 7 years/100k miles. Since I am planning on keeping it long is it possible to get bit more extended warranty? Also, whatever warranty I get the start date is always the registration date of the vehicle right? Also how much to get extended warranty?

depends on if your willing to spend the money on the ELW, if you do and you drive alot of miles then go for it, in terms of warranty date that you have to ask the dealer

You can only get extended Mercedes coverage if you buy from Mercedes dealer as a CPO. You can extend CPO for a total of seven years from original in-service date, with unlimited mileage. I don't think there's a way to get Mercedes coverage lasting longer than that on a used car purchase, and you can't buy any MB coverage if you don't get the used car from MB dealer. In that case you have to buy a third-party contract. ELW not apply to CPO, different fruits even if in same bowl. Coverage extension need not be purchased from selling dealer, in fact don't do so. First research who discounts coverage extensions by using the search function on this forum.

Not entirely true. You can still get Mercedes extended warranty up to 7yr/100k if the car is still under the original warranty.

I agree that ELW is available for car still in warranty, but that is not necessarily true if you bought the car as a CPO vehicle with the one year CPO extension already in place. In that case, I don't believe you can get the ELW but you have to get the CPO extension option.
