CPO Requirements

Thanks
Ultimately the experience is dependent upon the dealership and how thoroughly they inspect and recondition the vehicle. I have seen CPO cars that really should not have been when a less than ethical manager was running pre-owned sales and I have bought cars that were reconditioned above and beyond the standard set out in the checklist.

Still not too late. You can always ask to see the service records on the vehicle. I don't think the MB dealership can refuse you.
I know fabbrisd1 on this forum sometimes will offer to lookup service records if you provide the VIN.

1. Brake Fluid Flush is recommended B/20K service and/or every 2yrs.
2. CPO checklist is completed by the technician - service estimate is provided to approve by inventory/sales - then work is approved - service done - completed/clean checklist uploaded to MB to issue CPO on the VMI.
Have "some" dealers not approved specific items - like rear brake pads - for cost reasons - and then have their tech's report CPO clean - yes, I have seen vehicles when that has happened.
Reverse scenario - have some dealers have items done - like HVAC bacterial cleaning or injector cleaning - not specifically required by CPO - but are good things to be done ? Yes - and more often POSITIVE rather than than the other slippery negative
3. Is "next service" required to be done for CPO ? Example - does a 35K mile MB required to have 40K service done to meet CPO - technically no - but MOST dealers do do that POSITIVE THING
3. Is Appearance part of the CPO process - not really as that is objective -

Thank you all for the suggestions and info!
