After accusing the dealer of selling me a GL450 without running board lights as shown on the MSRP, they showed me that the lights are slimline under the door sill, unlike the obvious circular ones on our '14 ML350. BUT, they down't work the same way. The ML's lights go on if the car is dark and you touch the door handle. On the GL the lights do not come on if you are outside the car and touch the door handle. You have to press the unlock button to get them to light, which seems to defeat the purpose of Keyless Go. Since the ML and GL are similar, could there possibly be a setting in Star that could be changed so the lights come on when you touch the door handle from outside the car?
