2nd Row Grab Bar Light Replacement

So I have seen it asked but not resolved if I recall on how to replace the bulb or swap it out to LED. Well I asked my friend who works at the MB plant in AL and he told me a special tool.

The tool grabs the indention and then you just pull downward and this thing that look like a plug pulls out. Then you can just grab the handle and do what you need. I will try to get a pic of the plastic plug when its out as he will be here this weekend.

Here is the tool:

LED as last, and yes he installed it upside down so will get it fixed this weekend.

I did it to my 14 x166, just used flat screwdriver and poked around on the bottom to pull up the plastic insert and then unclipped the metal clip that released the handle and then changed to led, I have led's in front and rear footwell, the one u have in pics and the 2 in rear ceiling above 3rd row, now my car interior is bright white and shining.

Lingaraju garu,

I know this is an old thread, but can you tell me what size LEDs you used for the grab handle and front/rear foot wells? I have type 194 in the glove compartment and they are nice and bright. I'd like to change the interior as well to LED.

TIA.

Ignore the question, I was able to remove them and install new LEDs. They are size 194. OMG, the LEDs are a worthy upgrade.
