Model ML500 2013. Why won't my reverse camera engage when I am reversing? I have ticked the activate in R on the command system. Front and side cameras work. I can hear the camera open lens work when I push that. It's driving me crazy. What needs to be done for the reverse camera to work

Is it really opening? Have someone watch it for you, safely to the side. Maybe the mechanism has a fault and you're hearing the motor but the camera got disconnected. Similar to when the easy entry fails. You hear the motor but the steering wheel doesn't move.

On my '14 ML350 you can isolate the view to the rear camera only. If you do that, do you see any change in screen brightness, even a little bit?
