Sadly the 450 gets forgotten? searching for more power
It’s very easy to make 550 power but very few people are willing to push a 450s limits! With that said am looking at doing a custom air intake setup to make my truck a little more quicker and if possible upgrade turbos? I just want to keep the cel off the dash so I don’t get flagged at the dealer

If you have a tune already, want to stay off dealer radar and still want more power, buy another truck.
Just being blunt here, but you cant have everything listed.

450 once tuned is just like a 550 tuned, which in turn is close to a stock 63. So if you still aren't satisfied then either go new truck or get ready to spend $$$. This thing isn't going to run 12s or better, tuned 63s are high 12s. I'm happy with low 13s and having a large 7 seat SUV that sounds/looks good and is decently quick. It will still surprise many on the street. My girl today surprised a Vette that didn't want to let her over, the owner stopped and asked her what she had done bc he wasn't expecting that agility from such a big SUV. If I wanted fast I would have pushed for a E63 wagon.
Only ways to make faster after a tune IMO are (in order of ease):
1. new truck
2. meth injection (For best results will need to be tuned for meth, but then have to ensure meth is always in tank)
3. improve IAT cooling with Killer Chiller and trunk tank (Won't add power but helps in recovery. I used KC/Meth/tank on my E55 setup)
4. bigger turbos/re-tune (Have to drop the motor to swap turbos. Interesting thing is stock 63 turbos are cheaper than stock 450/550 turbos. But going this route you might as well go much bigger than 63 stockers.)

Having a Renn Tech tune is zero guarentee your MB OEM warranty will be intact.
Just a heads up, as this seems to be a common, and potentially expsensive, misconception.

Ok, cool, if you have a written 3rd party warranty from dealer, thats great.
What im talking about is that MB isnt warrantying any damage/repair they deem being caused by a tune, whether intalled by a dealer or not.
Fairly common for people to believe that since a dealer installed the tune, OEM warranty will cover repair, when that isn't the case.

I won’t go any further... what ever I do it’s my truck. thanks for your input, back to topic am going to get some TTM scoops and add them to the front grille area to force some more air in. and design a custom intake kit, and last upgrade to 63 turbos so about 5k into it?

Well... let me jump back on a incorrect comment here.....
Under Federal law - if you have a tune done - yes - it voids the manufacturers warranty on the ECU - but existing warranty stays in place on all other components. Again, that is Federal warranty law and not subject to dealer "interpretation".
Yes - if your ECU fry's hole's in your pistons - the pistons aren't covered under abuse.
However, in the case of a legitimate tune - and let's use well-experienced/well-respected MB tunes from RennTech as a example - I have NEVER seen or heard of Mercedes warranty not being honored .
on the rest of the Mercedes - ever.
A legitimate tune will increase hp and torque significantly - but a legitimate tunes never goes outside outside manufacturer's acceptable specs for the engine/power train - or the tuner wouldn't be able to stay in business under the pressure of all the law suits.

CEL's are COMMON with "most" garage hacked tunes - on reputable tunes like RennTech- I have never seel a CEL triggered by a RennTech ECU tune.
YES - the are several MB Dealer's who are also RennTech "dealers" - and frankly any Mercedes dealer can buy/use RennTech services - if the MB dealer has a customer for a tune.
I have a lot of respect for several other tuners - I separate the good from the bad - (1) a good tune doesn't trigger a CEL (2) a good tuner will stand behind their work - and if a ECU gets fried along the way - a good tuner bellies up for a new replacement ECU - those that don't have 1&2 - then you are throwing your money into the wind !

I’ve emailed Bruce from tuning technology motor sports 20 times and no reply back. I just want to know why he stated a custom intake can be done and not provide any more information to back up his suggestion. If I was in RENNTECH Miami I would’ve made more products for the 450 because you see way more 450s on the road then you do see 550s/63s.. go figure
