GL350 Bluetec and GLS580
Radar Detectors in windshield
I recently purchased a radar detector and for the first time in over 10yrs I'm having to place it inside the vehicle (I usually buy remote units). Can I place it anywhere on the dash or windshield or am I limited to those RF toll/easy pass device locations shown in the manual?

Yes, place in the RF areas or it will not work properly.

2013 GL550 4Matic
BlownV8 is correct. I have an Escort Max360. On my X164 GL550 the direction arrows would work properly. Now on my X166 GL550 I have it in the same location and it works perfect. Both windshields are factory, but the previous gen must have had something in the windshield to deflect the signal.
