Starting issue just clicks, then starts
I have a 2017 GLS550
It has problems when I go to start it, it usually just clicks, if I recycle the key it either single clicks again, or it cranks and starts.
Sometimes it may click 2 or 3 times then crank and start. Other times it can take 6 to 10 cycles of the key. It always starts in the end but its a PITA going through the clicks each time
I have tried a different battery, same result. Checked all ground points that I can find, all seem fine.
No errors are showing in xentry.
Please can someone suggest the next thing to try to help pinpoint this

forgot to mention there is no warranty as the vehicle was previously marked as salvage. Mercedes wash their hands of vehciles once marked as salvage (though they did supply me free navigation upgrade key the other day for this vehicle (I already had the disk) as it came with 3 years free updates)
All repaired now and no errors anywhere apart from this darned starting headache.

You mention "cycling the key" - do I understand correctly Is there a reason why you are using the Key Fob and not the Keyless Go Button that is standard in the 2017 GLS550 ?
If you really mean to describe using the Keyless Go Button - with foot on brake - you need to press down all-the-way - and release - a click/click/no-workie is a system of two things - not pushing the button all the way down - or not having your foot firmly on the brake when starting. The button needs to go down to full bottom before release - it is not "slap-it-and-go"
