Is wheel alignment required after front shocks / strut replacement?

Truck is at MB getting both front shocks replaced under warranty (has air suspension) and they said no wheel alignment is required is that true or not?

Thank you

They can set it back to the specs prior to installing the shocks, some mechanics mark the position before tearing it down. But Im not a mechanic. I would asked them to give a discount on the alignment price. Of course, air suspension might be totally different than standard struts.

Do point out only wheel alignment OEM for the front suspension is Toe ‘in’ or Toe ‘out’ (directional) adjustment.

There is no Camber or Caster to change tire contact angles.

We saw the need therefore to re-instate from the early 90’s full adjustment facilities essential to cater for day to day commuting encountering high cambered roads, altered height through load carrying or lowering, fitting wide profile tires, correctly resolving steering pull, curb knock damage!

This front kit also at the same time replaces the 4 highest wearing suspension bushings. Especially the 2 inner rear which are prone to premature failure and are expensive to replace.

Similar kit available for the rear suspension replacing also the 4 highest wearing lower arm inner bushes. This kit doubles the existing adjustment range.

See attached “Quick Reference” sheet re all kits available to suit entire Mercedes range.

W164/X164, W166/X166, W251, C292
Front Camber & Caster adjustment #504016M $595
Rear Camber & Toe adjustment #504026K $480

Delivery one kit $30 (F/R $50)

Visa, M/Card or PayPal

Dealer inquiries welcome.
