I have a GL 350 2014. When I press the button on my tailgate or the tailgate button on my key the tailgate unlatches but it won't automatically lift up. I have to pull it up. How can I fix this?

The dealer can adjust it for you. Happened to me once.

yes, a reset of the rear ecm will correct the problem. Cause read from scanner usually “voltage out of range”. Went thru all fuses and electronic modules trying to locate a root cause to no avail. Everything else normal as far as can be measured/no codes. Interestingly, if car optioned with auto folding third row seats at times these won’t lock in place & dash note states 3rd row seat not in place.
most Indy’s have scanner to do this quickly after plugging in.

I had the same issue and the fix was replacing the motor on the tailgate that moved the tailgate. After trying the module, etc. was a quick fix once I narrowed it down.
If the reprograming does not work.
