Engine Air Filter Replacement - 2015 GL450
Hi -
I recently completed the 30k miles service on my 2015 GL450 but can't work out how to change the engine air filter! I would imagine it's pretty simple once you know how, but for the life of me I can't find the location. Can someone please advise me on where it's the engine air filter is located and how to change it. Thanks a ton!

Guys i dont think the video above applies. I have a 2016 GL450 and the filters are behing and on top of the engine. I have not changed them yet but will do so soon. I have seen the screws it looks like you have to unscrew the covers from the engine. I mean that you can not remove the air filter housing and walk with it like some mercedes models.

Thanks for the video however the engine is a V6 3.0 twin turbo engine model number M276. I still can't find the location of the engine air filter and how to change it. I've also searched online and can't find anything showing the location. This should be really easy!!

THIS APPLIES FOR THE GL550 ONLY
Here on this video, after minute 6, you could see how to remove the air filters boxes. This is the same engine as the GL550
RockAuto has great prices for these air filters $14

Please, remember that the driver´s side air filter box has a hose clamp that you have to remove and possible change if the factory one is still there. Do not force this hose from the air filter box because you will break it.
Good Luck

True, but skips the part of taking the screws out, they're in such a tight spot, especially the left air filter. I had to make one to get the get left screw out. Argh.

Wow, the GL350 takes double that effort to change the filter.

I agree. I would have liked to see it. I needed to know if the whole air box comes out or just the lid. I am assuming it is done by using a right angled air or electric driver.
