Very infrequently we hear a distinctive, but hard to describe "two-syllable sound" from our dashboard ... Click Boing! Always when the the vehicle is running and sometimes when we are stopped, e.g., waiting for a traffic light to turn green. It isn't loud and we wouldn't hear it if we had music playing.

There are no other indications, the vehicle continues to perform flawlessly and we have found no way to cause this sound ... it just happens. 2015 GL550 with almost 20 thousand miles.

Does it happen at the same spot? It's very easy to accidentally add a location to the nav map, and then every time you pass it the Nav will bong.

Didn't know that ... mtm, but there's still a lot I don't know about our GL! I'll take note of every place it happens to see it it correlates.

there is also a subtle sound when the phone you have connected gets an incoming text message. There is an 'envelop' indicated on the screen.

It has been two days since I posted and we've done extensive driving over the weekend, but we haven't heard this sound again. I can confirm it is not an incoming text message as we hear that on our 'phones and see the 'envelope' icon, but not the "Click-Boing" sound. When we hear it again we'll check to see if it is a "pin drop" on the navigation screen.

When I said the sound occurs very infrequently ... I meant it! ;-)
