SPORT mode?

Hi there, I just picked up a CPO 2015 GL450 4matic. I love lots of things about it but one thing I don't is the transmission shift schedule. It shifts out of 1st almost immediately under light throttle, and shifts at low rpm most of the time except when very heavy throttle. Is there a SPORT mode somewhere that I don't know about? I've had several other Mercs in recent years and they all had a Comfort/Sport/Manual transmission mode selection. I can't find anything in this car to change it. Help! Maybe it just needs a Renntech tune or other?

Thanks,
Soggy Trans driver

Not sure if all GL's have that option but, next to the command knob there's a button for sport and comfort. I know it changes the suspension characteristics and firms up throttle response not sure if it does anything with the transmission. I've always set it to comfort and usually don’t pay much attention. I use the paddle shifter if I need the first gear to accelerate faster.

No knob for you unless you have the off road package.

Try a transmission reset. If you Google the transmission reset it includes a process of switching ignition on and off and some brake pedal/accelerator pushing you'll force the transmission to relearn to your driving style.

Might be what youre looking for.

Thanks! Did the reset, didn't help much. I find myself reaching for the paddles quite often when I drive it.

Even without the off-road package there may be a simple Sport/Comfort push button on the center console. Mine definitely affects the suspension, it may affect the throttle response, but not the transmission.

It wil take some time to relearn and adapt to new shift points, so be sure to give it some beans!

not all of them have the c-s- button but if yours does that would solve it! Although I'm almost certain that it's part of the ads system..
