Best ODB2 scanner for the GL?

I am thinking about buying an ODB2 scanner for xmas but I can't say I have much expertise with the product category. Does anyone have a recommendation that might be good for mercedes specifically (I know those work on a universal standard so they work with all cars that have ODB2 ports) but maybe there is one that knows all the merc specific codes etc. I googled but there does not seem to be anything definitive. Thankfully, I don't have any issues with the car (yet).

Let me know!

Autel is what I use, but I can't say it's the best.

It's cheap though, only $89 and does MB specific codes.

Amazon Amazon

Otherwise one that just reads OBD2 codes and not manufacturer specific codes are about $22 for android and $26 for iphone.

The one I purchased was a little over $200. I needed it to invoke my DPF regen cycle.

Which one was that? I have a '10 GL that I need to set DPF regen on, but the MB2 I bought to do that doesn't actually do it. Looking for a scanner that actually does what it promises.
