Nice. What swirl remover did you use? I have a dark blue GL. Wash it very carefully, but there is some swirling if you look closely.
It's hard to hide swirls with dark colors. It takes a full paint correction by a professional detailer to make it look near perfect. I had that done this summer, along with a professional level ceramic coating (5 yr warranty) to all painted surfaces and the wheels. He also used a special coating on all of the glass. It cost me around $800 for all of it (I got a nice discount from a friend), and the results are spectacular. I'll never have to wax or use a sealer ever again on this vehicle. The paint looks better than new, shines to the nines every time it's washed, and has better hydrophobic resistance and shines better than a freshly waxed or sealed vehicle. And bugs come off with no effort. I'll also never take it to a car wash ever again or let the dealer run it through their wash. The ceramic coating is definitely scratch resistant, but it will start to show swirls over time if you run it through car washes. Cleaning is now a breeze, so I do it more often.
For cleaning, I have a gas powered pressure washer with up to 3300 psi. I use ultra-soft microfiber mitts to do the washing. For the top of the truck, I have an extension rod that comes with microfiber pads....so I never have to get on a chair. For the rinse, I have a DI system that leaves an absolutely spot free finish with no drying required. I can even wash my black truck it in the hot sun and achieve perfect spot-free results. My full cleaning has gone from 1.5+ hours to less than 30 minutes....with a good chunk of that time spent setting up the power washer, attaching the hoses, filling the bucket, and putting things away when I'm done.
I used meguires pro grade swirl remover with my buffer then meguires yellow wax. It’s a mix of carnuba wax n polymers. You can still see some swirls but dark colors are tough. I have a friend that is going to touch up the wheels in the spring theirs two wheels that have some curb rash on them. He also has a ceramic cost for the windshield and the body.
