Anybody know of an effective way of cutting the cup holder cover, just the cover, right down the middle and still maintain individual slats rigidity and uniformity so that they can be open/close independently? If the mechanics of the holder is even conducive to being cut ???
It's impossible to do that and still have it work. If you ever take out your center console and turn it upside down, you'll see what I mean.
Have you ever thought about swapping out your old style cupholder for the heated/cooled style? You can often find them used on eBay for less than $200. Then the wiring harness is around $70. It doesn't matter if the wood cover doesn't match your interior wood since you can swap out the wood cover from your original unit.
