Door Closer
The passenger door closer on our 2015 GL550 stopped working. When the passenger exited the vehicle and closed the door we both heard a "double bang" ... the usual sound of a door closing followed an instant later by a similar, but unfamiliar sound. As the door closed and latched normally we dismissed it as a coincidence.
Unfortunately ... after several more errands we realized the passenger door was no longer closing itself ... we had to remember to slam the door to engage the latch. We drove to our dealership at lunch, they put us in a 2019 GLS450 loaner, ordered the parts and we had our 2015 GL550 back by the following afternoon. As expected, the repairs were under warranty.
The diagnosis was obvious, but the terminology was 'interesting' ... the closer 'cable' had broken. That must have been the second sound when the opener stopped working.
We asked the cost if we were out of warranty ... over $300. There are three more closers to worry about!

gosh ... miss the soft close on my 2010 BMW 750, bi-xeon adaptive headlights, digital display of oil level, all LED lights, integrated perimeter sensor command display, air conditioned seats ... ok ok, I love my GL, I love my GL ... hahaha
