My 2013 GL450 is approaching 70K miles and per the owner's manual, the automatic transmission oil and filter are due for replacement. I'd like to know if there is a recommended automatic transmission fluid OEM substitute. I've read that the or the are possible substitutes although these are not in the list of MB-approved ATFs. Has anyone tried any of these or some other brands?

Also, can anyone recommend a good replacement transmission filter kit?

I'm also coming close to 70k and was looking to do this myself. There is a youtube video by FCPEURO on how to do this. But the critical step/part about doing this work on a the 722.9 versus previous transmissions is the temperature of the oil and the quantity of the oil. They need to be precise. Any thoughts on how to address this?

On a side note, I would go with Mercedes filter and gasket.
