I just bought a 2014 GL 450. So far I'm loving this car. Love the power and how smooth the V8 is. The dealer has offered a vehicle service contract from CNA National. Does anyone have any experiences with this company. Good or Bad, I'd like to hear about them so I can make an informed decision.

Thanks, Bob C
CNA is a big insurance company, so you shouldn't have to worry about the company folding. I guess it really depends on your starting mileage, years and miles of coverage, and which policy you are able to get. You preferably would want the top policy that offers exclusionary coverage (covers everything on the vehicle except for the items that are specifically excluded in writing. Don't just go by the brochure that the dealer gives you. Ask for a sample contract and read all of the exclusions before making a decision. You should also go to the service department and talk to a couple of the service advisers to find out their experience in dealing with that company. And remember that the price is negotiable on the policies. I got almost $3k off the price that the dealer was starting at on mine. They actually wrote it for a loss of $700 (I saw their buy price).
It will likely be fairly expensive on a 5 year old vehicle. If the truck has low miles, that should lower the cost that you pay for coverage. I paid around $5100 when I bought my policy 12-17 with 40k starting miles. It gave me 4 yrs and 45k miles of coverage. Dealer retail was $8k for the policy....and mine is one step down from exclusionary coverage (this dealer didn't have that policy available).
Check BBB for reviews and read the complaints. But keep in mind that some people complain when they have repairs done for items that were excluded in their policy because they never read the service contract to see what was actually covered or excluded. You can also look them up online and read customer reviews.
I'll assume your vehicle exceeded the OEM warranty limits (48 months or 'kilomiles') when you purchased so you did not have the option of an extended warranty from M-B. We paid $2,700 to extend ours to seven years, but our 2015 GL550 is low mileage.
In three years we will need to do what you did, i.e., warrant an out-of-warranty vehicle so your report provides valuable information ... thanks for sharing.
