Scheduled Service..Dealer vs Independent with Warranty
I did my last Service B at the dealership and I felt $650 was a ripoff for an oil change. A local independent “Euro” repair facility quoted me $200 for the A check. Sure I can do it myself for even cheaper, but I still have 2 years left on the warranty and have had serious engine trouble early on, so I don’t want to give them any excuses to void my warranty. Any advice?

I agree with @chassis. As long as your vehicle is covered by a Mercedes-Benz warranty it is false economy to save a few dollars on scheduled maintenance. If you keep your M-B vehicle and purchase an extended warranty I would also continue to have it it serviced at the dealership. Once you are on your own with no warranty you can shop for cheaper service or do it yourself.

Go with the prepaid service plan or do some research on Iyour service schedule/Maintenance manual and piecemeal the most important bits.
then price shop the list and call each mb dealer in your area.
Otherwise that is mb life if you are not smart abiut it.

Save yourself money and use your indy for maintenance. There isn't even one warranty company that will turn down warranty related claims because you had your regular maintenance done by an indy or even you doing it yourself. You just need to keep your receipts. I only use the dealership for warranty related claims. I saved $500 on a full front brake job by letting my indy install OEM pads, rotors, sensor, and brake hardware.

It depends. My sa undercuts the indys in our area....and I really do shop around every time.

I've got a great relationship with my SA at my local Benz dealer. But that doesn't change $175 hourly service rates at the dealer vs $95 at my indy. My indy will also let me purchase OEM parts online at a big discount and will only charge me the hourly rate and shop supplies to install them.
