Finally pulled the trigger on some new wheels. Since my decision was made based on all the information here in this forum figured it would be good to post up some pics and details in case it is helpful for anyone else.
Stock wheel/tire (295/40/21) weight was 83 pounds - about 30% tread left
New wheel/tire weight is 75 pounds.
I will likely add 5mm spacers in front and 10mm spacer in rear to get them a bit closer to being flush

Lionhart LH-Five Tires 305/35/22
I have only driven on them for a few days, so probably too early for a definitive answer, but so far it feels about the same as the stock wheels/tires. Again, this is apples and oranges since I'm comparing new tires to 70 percent worn Pirelli's. New tires always feel better and I'm sure once these wear down things may get a little rougher, but so far no issues. This is my first go with Lionhart tires but figured I'd give them a try since they are a fraction of the cost.
Was there much/any difference in the speedometer reading as you went from 21" to 22". I see you went from stock 40 to 35 profile, maybe that compensated?
I haven't measured it yet with my gps and radar detector, but I imagine it will be reading just slightly slower. Mathematically the new tire should be 0.1" taller than stock, but in my experience Pirelli's (and Michelins) seem to run on the larger side of their specs. I would bet that when these tires wear down to the same level as the old stock tires it would be very close. So essentially it's now just less tire and more wheel.
